Carletha attended grade school in Colleton County and graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School, in New York City, New York.  

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age under the leadership of Pastor Paul Taylor at the St. James Holiness.  She later moved to New York and attended the St. Albans Deliverance Center under the leadership of Bishop Matthew Johnson.  When her family returned to SC, she renewed her membership at the St. James Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Lewis N.
